With the NFL season humming along at its typical breakneck pace, DraftKings is commemorating the approximate halfway point with a $10 Million NFL Midseason Celebration. As promoted on DraftKings’ site, the Midseason Celebration consists of “8 Mega Contests”, which will all unfold on Sunday, November 13th, Week 10 of the NFL season.
Wide Array of Contests, Entry Fees
The $10 Million NFL Midseason Celebration’s eight contests feature a wide array of entry fees that should fit virtually any bankroll, ranging from a high end of $5,300 all the way down to $4.00. It will also allow players of varying experience levels, as well as those who prefer cash games, to have a chance to participate.
The largest first-place prize of the eight contests, $1 Million, belongs to the $5 Million Main Event Millionaire. The contest carries a $444 entry and has a maximum of 12,512 entrants, with 2,975 of them finishing in a cashing position. It effectively replaces, for at least Week 10, the Fantasy Football Millionaire contest that DraftKings ran from Weeks 2-9 with a $20.00 entry fee.
The $2 Million Mini-Celebration is far apart from the Main Event Millionaire in entry fee ($4.00), but the next closest in terms of prize pool. It features a $100,000 first place prize and accommodates up to 588,235 entrants. The top 160,875 finishers will cash.
The $1.25 Million Medium Celebration will set players back $44.00 and features a $150,000 first place prize. The contest will allow a maximum of 32,842 entrants. The top 8,320 finishers will cash.
The Three Entry Max contest carries the $20.00 entry fee that the Fantasy Football Millionaire has featured, and will be open to up to 23,121 entrants. First place will see their bankroll increase by $50,000 and payouts will go to the top 6,425 entrants overall.
For cash game enthusiasts, the $600K Midseason Celebration will be available for a $15.00 entry fee. The top 20,000 finishers out of 45,977 entrants will double their money.
DraftKings’ new casual contests will have representation in the Midseason Celebration, as a $9.00 entry fee contest, the $300K Slant, will carry such a designation. First place will be worth $15,000 and the top 10,300 finishers out of 38,500 entrants will cash. As per DraftKings’ casual contest policies, users who have earned an experience badge prior to contest entry are excluded from entering casual contests.
Thunderdome Contest Carries Largest Entry Fee; Double Qualifier for FFWC Also on Tap
The final contest in the series, the $350K Thunderdome, caters to those with the largest bankroll. The tournament carries a $5,300 entry fee and is open to only 70 entrants. First place receives $100,000 and the top 14 finishers overall will cash.
One other contest, albeit without a direct cash payout at its very top, is also part of the Midseason Celebration series. A FFWC (Fantasy Football World Championship) Qualifier will run, awarding two seats to the December 12th Fantasy Football World Championship Qualifier in New York City to the top 2 finishers among 5,904 contestants. In addition to the aforementioned two FFWC seats, the next 352 finishers below will cash, beginning with third place, which will be awarded $1,000.
