We recently expounded on DraftKings’ , a 10-day cavalcade of lucrative MLB tournaments that will serve as a momentous send-off to the 2016 baseball season. Not to be outdone, is countering with its own spectacular September windfall just prior to the start of the lucrative NFL season- the $1,000,000 Big Swing, unfolding on Tuesday, September 6th.
Satellites and Direct Entry both Available; $1 Million Prize Pool
As described on , participation in the Big Swing will be possible either by winning a satellite or qualifier for the contest, or through directly entering it at a cost of $1,500. Satellites, meanwhile, will be running at phentermine $25, $115 and $200 entry points leading up to the contest date. The contest will feature a total of 740 seats, and as its name implies, will award a total of $1 million in prizes, which will be split among the top 135 finishers.
The top lineup in the Big Swing will take in exactly a quarter of that haul, $250,000. Second place will be awarded $125,000, while the third-place finisher will see a bankroll boost of $75,000. The remaining cashing positions will be rewarded as follows:
9th – 10th-$7,500
11th – 15th-$5,000
16th – 25th-$4,000
26th – 55th-$3,500
56th – 135th-$3,000
Culmination of MLB “Triple Crown”
The Big Swing wraps up an MLB “Triple Crown” of sorts for FanDuel, which on August 20th. The $1 million prize pool that the Big Swing boasts means that the operator will have paid out a total of just over $2.5 million in that trio of events alone.
The Big Swing also represents a slight departure from the other major end-of-season, high-stakes tournaments being offered by both FanDuel and DraftKings. Not only is the aforementioned 740-player field larger than what is typically seen for a contest of this magnitude, but the fact that it offers directly entry differentiates it from the other major contests that are typically qualifier-only affairs.
The contest’s date is noteworthy as well, given that it unfolds after the WFBC and just two days prior to Opening Night in the NFL, also known as the kickoff of the industry’s most profitable season.
